what you need to know
Scheduling
Cake smash sessions take place in my home-studio Thursday & Friday mornings. If you'd like your images ready to display at your baby's birthday party, I recommend this to take place when baby is 11 months old. This allows the time needed for me to make your images truly wonderful and time for you to print your images.
Session info
Sessions can last 45-60min and we start with portrait moments of your baby in the set. We then move onto the most anticipated moment-smash cake time! We end with a splash moment in the cutest tiny claw foot tub where the kiddos have the most fun splashing away all while helping in the cleaning process.
What to bring
A simple 6 in naked cake or if you choose a frosted cake tailored to the theme chosen. Bring 2 outfits fitting to the theme; where one will be used for the portraits and the second for the smash. Puff or small snacks to entice your little in case they should not be interested in the cake. Finally a towel to dry your little one at the end of there bath.
Additional tid bits
Sometimes babies need time to warm up to me before we start at which point I start slowly by incorporating some play as a group and then we sneak in the pictures! There are times that babies don’t quite get the hang of the smash right away, at this point you may need to get your hands into the cake to help them get started. This can be really messy. So be sure to bring an extra outfit for baby, and possibly one for yourself!
